Sabrina Canfield is a novelist and reporter. She has covered legal issues in New Orleans for nearly a decade for a national newswire, and has reported extensively on the BP oil spill and resulting litigation. Canfield’s news story, ‘The Plan is to Let Us Die‘, was named as editor’s pick by the Poynter Institute’s 2010 NewsTrust Future of Energy journalism search. Her fiction and essays have appeared in finalist categories for the Faulkner Society’s William Faulkner-William Wisdom Creative Writing Competitions. She grew up in Montana and Utah, studied in Prague and Italy, and graduated from Reed College. She lives with her husband and son in New Orleans.
